On The Hunt!

Our August Cohort went on a scavenger hunt this week around the KRH Campus. Scavenger hunts are a great way to orient new employees to our hospital in a fun and exciting way while encouraging them to meet new faces.

Can you guess what they were looking for in each of the images below?

Lauren, Adam, Willie, and Danielle found our Montana Children’s Center!

Gina, Sarah, and Adam located a Vander-lift and looked pretty happy about it too!

Jadan, Ty, and Maura spotted our Telesitter devices used to keep our patients safe.

Stephanie, Jenny, and Jib found a VIP- Mandy, our Residency’s Program Director!

Sun, Smiles, and Social Distance

Our newest groups of Nurse Residents, AKA Cohort 13, hiked with our KRH Nurse Residency Coordinators at Herron Park for their first official meet-and-greet. Equipped with water, sunscreen, and masks, there was no better environment than the great outdoors for this team to get to know one another. Welcome, Nurse Residents!

Hello, My Name Is…RN!

It’s that time again! Interviews for our upcoming Fall Nurse Residency Cohort are in full swing. We’ve had an extremely talented and passionate group of applicants for our Residency Program and are looking forward to finding the right fit for them across our organization.

Interest in our program has come from all over the nation, including many local community members seeking to become part of our KRH team.

Stay tuned! Our next post will include a spotlight on some of our newest Nurse Residents!

Staying Close While 6 Feet Apart

Social-distancing restrictions in place due to the current COVID-19 pandemic has not slowed down our current Cohort!

Nurse Residents in the KRMC Nurse Residency Program are finding creative ways to continue their professional development and growth of knowledge. Virtual skills labs, remote learning from home, and Face Time one-on-one meetings are now part of our toolbox. Here at KRMC, we recognize that the RN learning environment is ever-changing and we are ready to support our residents by thinking outside the box and adjusting our process to meet their needs! #stayhome #flattenthecurve #washyourhands

The “Ups and Downs” of Nursing

Montana’s Senior Nursing Students got a little taste of what life is like as a Registered Nurse during the Practice Transition Conference in Helena this month. You should have seen the room! Over one hundred Senior Nursing Students from around the state gathered together to discuss their transition into the Nursing Profession. We tried to capture on video the entire room doing squats to “Bring Sally Up,” but our technological skills failed us!

We believe our future nurses should have all the support and resources they need prior to entering into the profession and joining a Nurse Residency Program. We were thrilled to meet the newest face of nursing and are looking forward to welcoming them into the ranks! At this year’s conference, we discussed the ups and downs of nursing and how resiliency can help set you up for success.

Syke’s, Sunshine, and Snakes; Oh My!

What better way to kick off the start of a great year in the KRMC Nurse Residency Program than a group breakfast and hike? Our 2019 Fall Cohort met up to enjoy breakfast at the lovely local Syke’s Diner followed by a sunny-strewn hike through Lone Pine State Park. We work hard to create a fun, energetic work environment for our staff and love bringing our Nurse Residents into the fold.

NOT pictured in the photo is the friendly garden snake that was befriended by one our team members!
